Chinese Carved Stone

Here is a large piece (torso size) i traded for in hong kong last week. I know china has alot of fakes but i was intrigued by the carvings and size.

Its heavy probably about 5-7 pounds. I only traded sone modern usa coins for it maybe 30-40$ in value.

Im not sure if its some type of jadeite or other stone.

 

It's called a Bi Disc......
the carvings look to have been done with power tools...and it looks recently made.
I.m not sure that's jade.....

The antique ones usually have some scrollwork and a grain pattern, like this one. Yours has some auspicious characters added to it, to accomodate to modern taste.

 

I don't think the OP's is jade, but a) I've been wrong before and b) at that price, who cares. I've seen a similar stone before somewhere; it wasn't jade then.

 

Thank you all for your replies. I was pretty sure it wasnt original but at the trade cost for it it was a win. I wasmore curious of the stine. Either way its a cool piece i will hold on to. Thanks again.
