Featured Very well made clip earrings

    I hope I'm not flooding the minds here. It's that I am still learning about jewelry.
    I was wondering if these had a maker, no markings though.

    I'd be testing those for silver. That clip style is, oh, 40s and 50s.

    I'd call late 40s to early 50s on them, and probably not silver. Pretty though. No idea whodunnit.

    They aren't. And testing often leaves unsightly marks.

    Never put acid on metal.
    If you test with acid, use a touchstone:
    Rub a small part of the back of metal on the stone, taking care not to damage the metal.
    Then put a drop of acid on the stone.

    I only put it directly on when I'm going to either melt or pitch the piece - melt if real and pitch if not. Pieces with fake marks I've been known to acid burn deliberately.

    I always use my black stone and a light scratch, I have been doing this for about 10 years but still learning on so many things.
