I got this brooch with multi colored stones or gems. Anybody have an idea on who made it etc. ?

    Thanks

Not a clue, but it's in desperate need of a dry toothbrush to get some of the crud off!

It's nice, but with the pin stem broken off I don't think you will be able to get anything for it :inpain:

You have to remove the stones, if you try to solder with the stones in place the heat will destroy them.

You could also start a pile of jewelry that is in need of repair & when you get a nice assortment list it as a repair / craft lot. Many folks out there who make jewelry or other things buy them to harvest the rhinestones.

Yep, I know that. They will break.

It looks like the mechanism is still there, so if you can replace just the pin stem you're good to go. It might be best in a craft/repair lot however. I list them every so often and they tend to sell well.

Nice job. I bought a whole load of pins from Ebay for not a lot a few years back. Very useful indeed they are.

No idea on the maker; these were done all over the place in the US and abroad back in the 50s. I'd guess this one's American from the old clasp; odds are it was made in the early to mid-1950s. I'd call it a chunky multi-colored prong set rhinestone brooch and call it a day.

Be sure to mention the finish loss on the faux pearls. This looks like it was a nice pin at one time, but its had a rough life.
