Here is another piece I got today in large bag of jewelry. Anyone know what this is actually called or when it was made ?

    Thanks

In that last photo: are you looking at the back of a concave mirror?
Is that a button on the right of the large hinge that depresses to let the whole assembly come forward?

Maybe the inner lid you're holding open covered a photo?

Only if the kind he uses clashes with his coloring.

These face powder-blush compacts on a cord or chain were popular in the 1920s. Others may know more about this.

    As a side note:
Today's nomenclature is so much more graceful than that of the 20's. Ladies then wore rouge (tarts 'painted'), and the color was much stronger. In my childhood, the age of certain women could be ascertained not only by her hair color, but by the shade and manner of application of her rouge.

Overhere in The Netherlands it is still called rouge by people of my generation. Younger ones call it blusher.
This is how I know we're getting old, it is not just police officers getting younger.

    Hi,
I remember my Gram wetting a rose on her wall paper and rubbing it on her cheek lines. Gram would NEVER buy makeup that was for Gypsies and foreigners.

Glad I am in good company. I come from a long line of foreigners who wore make-up and liked Gypsies:D. A while ago I read an article on my great-grandfather and it seems even he wore make-up:wideyed:.
