Scottie's very popular with the 40s fans along with Airdales.
The more I look the more moth damage I see. Sigh.plus I think they have sprayed it with Febreze

Bummer. And hand done blanket stitch, too.

I'd expect to get about the 15 mark, purely because they are Dogs. ;)

...and the non-US posters may have no clue about that reference. :) It was a 70s/80s American sitcom. Cringe-worthy and funny at the same time if you have the cultural references for it, but if not a lot of it won't translate. If in doubt, try this:

This is actually within the same episode. :)
And there are often out of the USA things stated and posted I have no idea about. :)

I haven't seen any of it in 20 years myself. Night Court either. That was the last sitcom I could actually stand, unless you count the last political primaries and those weren't particularly funny.

WKRP in Cincinnati & Night Court are 2 shows that I am hoping will show up on ME TV or Antenna TV very soon. These are the 2 channels I watch the most because quite frankly I do not care if anyone survives, if anyone wins a race, if anyone has any talent of any kind & I sure as hell do not care who someone is getting chosen to date. :p:p:eek::rolleyes::yuck::yuck::yuck:

This was in a free lot added to another lot we bought. It needs a clean but I wasn't expecting to get a Wedgwood anti slavery dish for nothing.

It will go nicely with the Ridgway and Abington anti slavery jug we posted a few weeks back.

The best lots we bought were ephemera. Letters from Lords, Ladies, Bishops, Kings, Politicians etc. And more recent signed photos of presidents and heads of state.

This 1858 letter was written by Temple Godman of the 5th Dragoon Guards. Godman took part in the charge of the heavy brigade in the Crimean War.

His letters home from Crimea have been published "A Cavalryman in the Crimea: The Letters of Temple Godman, 5th Dragoon Guards" but I never expected to see an original.

In this brief opening he mentions a squadron going to Sheffield, possibly to avert further Chartist revolts in the autumn of 1858.

Have been focusing on furniture items for the shop but did pick up a few other things this week. Showed the Scandinavian art glass (Johansfors) and unknown pottery vase in PGP threads. The art glass was $5.00 at the thrift and the pottery was $6.00 at a flea market.

This large LeCreuset La Mama dutch oven by Enzo Mari was $10.00 at the thrift.

This scale with all the weights shown was also $10.00 at the thrift. The scale is just a cheap thing from India but the weights always have good value.

I bought this large Wade of California serving set against my better judgement since it was only $8.00 and in perfect condition. I see they don't sell all that well so may have this a long while.

This was a serendipitous fun find from the auction last night. A friend of mine bought a box lot for $2.00 for some tiny Swarovsky animals in it. He said I could take what ever else I wanted for free. This may be the best of the bunch in the lot.

It is a Quisp cereal premium called a Cosmiclouder from 1969. It loaded with a white powder that would then puff out when you pulled the trigger. (No, not that kind of cosmic powder! :wideyed:) It is in good working order and puffs air so should work if loaded with powder.

One recently sold on ebay that was missing the front cone. There is at least one complete gun on worthpoint but I don't subscribe to know what it sold for.

Found this copy of the original cereal box offer on the web.

I found 3 more after I posted the above. A BIN sold on 10-30 for $47.00 & one sold in auction for 102.50. A factory sealed one sold for $140.27 on 8-17.

So I guess you can say it is all over the board. :p:eek::rolleyes::confused::D:D

Thanks but both of those were missing the cone. I need a sale comparable for a complete one. Someone on a blog indicated that they can be pricey but have not been able to find where one sold other than old sales on worthpoint and don't have a subscription.

Wrote the above before seeing your second post. Do you know if the one for $102.50 had the cone? I assume the factory sealed one did.

Here is the 1810 pattern book found in a very interesting ephemera lot. Sorry about the watermarks, not sure how to sell this yet but feel that it may have some value.

There are just 10 pages with patterns on, second photo shows a small excerpt from one page:

Verybrad, I hope that the following does not sound "coarse" but . . . if you're wondering why the "Wade of California serving set" doesn't sell all that well perhaps it is because (to my eyes at least and I imagine at least some other eyes as well) it is "finished/painted" in each of the four(?) dishes/sections with a white, foamy decoration which looks a bit too much like spittle/saliva for my (and perhaps other people's) taste.

Hmmm, I wonder if it could/would have an appeal for either Halloween or April Fools' Day shoppers.  ;)

LOL! ..... Hadn't thought about it quite like that but do agree that these are not all that attractive. I figured that all things with period design would have some appeal to someone. I also know that there are collectors of California pottery...... but maybe there are limits to appeal.
