Pattern looks Malay/Singapore. I've things I bought out there. That clear thread is much newer than the 60s or 70s, unless someone has remade it.

From that closeup I'd be more likely to guess rayon or some sort of acrylic. Silk doesn't look "fuzzy" like that close in.
