    From DH, the toy soldier enthusiast:

    at first i thought he was french - and a french grenadier as he has the exploding bomb cockade on his shako....and the epaulets are also very french....but on a closer inspection, his shako is wider at the top than the french, and there is no napoleonic eagle. and the cap badge looks very russian..so I am going with Russian grenadier officer of the napoleonic wars
