    These all are in pencil or other types of medium...you can see the strokes in the art...there are a few left out...because I just couldn't tell.. 101988328_387083388941145_4051894487971777283_n.jpg 102318832_567812777207792_1244121239700715344_n.jpg 102367711_300981461071968_394123074600518354_n.jpg 102406210_713755952527051_5226785150893768383_n.jpg 102460927_712820712594214_4268918596868550948_n.jpg 102561689_593910914863880_3550821126062511853_n.jpg 102666323_784738018725695_4415408174348111637_n.jpg 102676095_298122701219737_2565747848266674709_n.jpg

People used to memorize poetry as a routine thing. Perhaps each of these is something especially meaningful to the person who made the entry. Sappy & morbid as these verses are, they're a lot better than the rhymes friends put in my autograph book.

I just wonder if this was a printing company book from the time period...of original, and produced printings?

Hmmm....actually there are also 2 colored etchings in the book by George Baxter...which so far I have read... Mansell bought a license from Baxter for printing methods..

Absolutely. Agree with above. It's a commonplace book of sorts. Assembled by a young Scottish lady in the early Victorian era. And that's it for me. Don't want to be rude. But all those poorly lit, poorly cropped photographs are making me twitchy.

super sorry, I really did try...even tried shifting myself book while taking pictures. I guess I just suck at it. Not use to trying to upload/load pictures...I feel old and technologically disabled. Yikes

Fascinating stuff. There is a Gateshead in South East England close to Dover and Canterbury. My Dad's sister lived there and I visited as a youngster growing up in England.
