Me again. You'll probably eventually get to see all of my thrift store finds. I got this little desk when I first moved to Arizona 20 years ago just thought it would make a cute side table. But now that I've I have joined this forum I'm wondering if there's anything anyone can tell me about it.
27.5x28x19.25 legs may not be refinished but the rest of it definitely is. No other pictures are necessary because there are no other marking with labels etc etc WYSIWYG

Single drawer work stand, Sheraton style, mid 19th century & later, guesses Cherry with poplar/pine secondary.
Originally these 4 leg tables were called "light stands", the name got changed to work stand, not sure why and replaced 3 leg candlestands. These stands were made by the 10s of millions during the second half 19th century and offered a stable platform to support oil & later kerosene lamps.

Think the name work stand/table came from the fact that they were handy tables to hold a lamp and work materials next to a chair. Work would have been sewing, embroidery, or any other small dexterous work that could be done while sitting.
