Green canister set

These were my grandmoms, they have a 731 on the bottom but no other info, there is a mustard, pepper, rice, tea, sugar, and a few more

 

On an item like this, the bottom can give a clue even if it is unmarked.

 

All pieces are marked 731, so it is not a model/shape number? MOS is hinting we would like to see the bottom of at least one of them.

 

Graduated sizes?
Picture of bottom showing us how the edge was finished, might help determine time period.

 

Good morning, @Amanda Hicks , sorry but we need more than the one photo, I cannot even see what color of green glaze it is - which can be a big clue to the pottery maker. The bottom, the interior, the underside of the lid, anything to help us to help you identify it. What size is it? Is this one the largest of the set?

With the incised number, color, and the way the bottom is finished. I would put this in the 1930s. Definitely Pre WWII.
The incised number often points to Germany and they did make canister sets. Czechoslovakia was another area, theirs are usually marked, however not always.

If you are looking to sell these, the heavy crazing and any chips will devalue your pieces.

Do wait for others to comment.

 

I think that type of green glaze on pottery is very attractive. If you're going to keep them, the chips and crazing won't make much difference. If selling them, @clutteredcloset49 is right that they will affect any potential sale.

Glad to hear you are keeping them. I like them very much. Should you decide to sell, not sure the crazing really detracts, as long as pieces are stable. Chips are never desirable, but the small ones that lids can get, out of sight on their inner rims, are probably not fatal either. Having multiple matching pieces with intact lids has to be a plus.
