    Hi All
Today I came across two old color lithographs depicting horse race scenes, but I had to leave the shop as it was late. I want to investigate further before I go back. The lithographs had two signatures. One on the left which I assume would be the original artist ..it was signed "Ch.Forster".
On the right which I assume would be for the lithograph print maker was signed "Seitz Wandsbeck".
Any info on the profile of the lithographer and his works i.e.Seitz Wandsbeck
    would be appreciated.
Also please help on the identity of the Ch.Forster signature who may have painted horse race scenes.
    thanks in advance!

It may be that "Seitz Wandsbeck" refers to both the publisher/lithographer and the city; Gustav W. Seitz of Wandsbeck, Germany.
See http://www.georgeglazer.com/prints/aanda/art-pre20/chromoinv/chromoinv.html for a set of chromolithographs by Seitz, and a bit of biography: "Gustav W. Seitz (b. 1826) was a German publisher active during the mid to late 19th century. The firm frequently produced art prints issued as sets of chromolithographs mounted on card."

There is a catalog of the lithographs by Seitz, published in 1875: http://www.worldcat.org/title/catal...-color-chromos-miscellaneous-c/oclc/123474182
The Stanford University library has a copy, don't know if it is available anywhere else.
A listing of postcard publishers indicates Gustav W. Seitz was active from 1859-1914: http://www.metropostcard.com/publisherss2.html

It also seems there were ebay listings earlier this month for Seitz lithographs entitled "the Finish" and "the Hunt" (or perhaps "the Meet")which went unsold for $800. (search ebay completed listings for "Gustav W. Seitz")

    Thanks Galeria Gila and all-fakes!
All-fakes..you certainly put an important info as I was intially looking for an individual for the litho but it appears it is a german printing house led by person named Gustav Seitz.I will research in that line. But for the other name I think Ch.Forster which could be Charles Forster was a painter
    thanks!

Thanks; in googling, I found it important to include the middle initial for Gustav W. Seitz, as there was a sculptor named Gustav Seitz, 1906-1969; no relation.

(PS, it was Gila's links that started me in this direction; looking for further info on one of them I found a reference to the German city, and thought that was too coincidental, if the lithographer's name was the same as a city known for lithography.....I've heard of people named Paris or Austin, but "Wandsbeck" seemed a little farfetched.)
