I am having trouble uploading the photos I took (too large) , is there any websites or appraisers that I can email photos to and find out information on furniture?
The furniture has been in the family for over 60 years and was told it was from the late 1800's . It is a set with couch, kind and queen chair. All were reupholstered in 1986.

    Hi Don, welcome.
Glad you managed to upload your pictures. If click on the full image option, they will appear as... full images, and we will be very happy.

IMAG1498z.jpg IMAG1499z.jpg IMAG1500z.jpg IMAG1501z.jpg We also have an old steamer trunk, also has been in the family a long time. It came from the great aunt of my 86y/o grandfather and she was a "spinster" that traveled a lot.
When my mom had got it there were red oil tokens dated 1903, and a "civil war pocket bible" with entries dating 1865. She was told the trunk may be early 1900s, the leather strap handles and lock / hasp are broke off.

The furniture is fantastic! Just to my ever changing taste! I would venture to say 1920's. but the people who actually KNOW this stuff will be along anon I'm sure.

The couches we may consider selling, if anyone know a rough value. The trunk we will not sell, more interested knowing when and where it was made. My mother said she has seen similar trunks with the same pictures inside

This trunk would be called a round top trunk,

"A true round top trunk has a top that slopes only from the center to the front and back. From side to side, the crest of the top is the same height all the way across the top of the trunk. The following examples show true round tops."

It has 5 vertical staves on top and 4 vertical staves on the front. The material/background between the staves appears to be plain metal, tin, that would have a wooden body below. Antique trunks came with all sorts of artwork, lithographs, inside from pictures of ladies, children, country scenes, etc...

At the moment I can't with certainty date this trunk other then probably latter half of the 1800s. Do look closely at the hardware, like the hinges and lock, for patent info. If you could spot a patent date or patent number we could date the earliest it could be, but definitely not the latest date it could be.

Round, domed or crown top trunks were usually more expensive. They kept other trunks off them and put at the top of the stack aboard ships, trains or whatever.

Think the trunk to be circa 1890. The upholstered pieces are from the 20s. Design is not based on any historical style but think more Italian inspired than French, as so many from this period were. Since they are in very good condition, they are saleable. Not everyone will like the upholstery choice but very few would buy with the thought of changing the fabric. Having these reupholstered would exceed the value. Here in semi-rural Midwest, maybe $350.00- $400.00 for the two pieces at retail. Less at auction or other wholesale venues. You might do better (or worse) in some locations.
