Does anyone else think this woman:

could be meant for this woman?

Don't think so, the nose is different, the chin and the cheeks differ... the face and the neck of the woman in the cameo look "better nourished"

The figure is so outstandingly homely, had to wonder if it's a portrait of a real person, not a fantasy female. Famous men are not uncommon in lava. Cameo cutter was not the most highly skilled, so taking into account the cameo may not be the most accurate likeness. Just a shot. That's Queen Charlotte, BTW.

She's my most recent addition :shame::happy:.. but I'm not sure if glass or shell. I'm leaning towards shell, but the pink cheek makes me wonder if it's colored or just a very good use of the shell ? Thank you ! ;)

Oh! She's just lovely! A very good use of the conch shell indeed, set in jet. I applaud you for not thinking she is coral. I wrote this to give people some eye training:

Nice acquisition. She definitely gets the Bronwen Seal of Approval. :)

She's a bacchante, BTW. I'm so used to them I start to think others naturally recognize them too.

It worked for me just now when I tried it. Are you getting any kind of message? Should be freely accessible with no restriction. Please try again & let me know the result.

I have been hoping to expand people's idea of what a cameo can be, develop a taste for better ones & show how to recognize them. Every teacher likes to see her students make good use of what she learned. :)

Thank you. I'll have to consult with my web master (who is not really all that expert) later & see if he can understand or we can work it out together.

I see that code is supposed to mean a temporary condition related to the server the site is on. It may mean my hosting service is doing some kind of maintenance, or some server in the chain between you & the site is, since I can access it with no problem. Don't computers just make your life so much better?

Great! Thanks for that. Since there's no one minding the site full time, I don't always know when there are problems. Glad it did turn out to be, as the error code indicated, a temporary server issue. :)

Just another thing I can't afford I thought I'd share. I'm not much into diamonds, but could live with these. The intaglio is moonstone.
