    I never thought to look under the lid. It’s hard to get a clear view but try this.

    Hey, good call on the lid.

    @aaroncab What's your new avatar? Looks like my kind of thing.

    Ah, four ages of man. Despite the lady on a lion, a la Cybele/Tyche, she represents the prime of life. Thanks for hooking me up. :)

    Postscript: Youth, Hebe feeding the eagle of Zeus, turns up on cameos all the time.

    Seal Script is a fairly common tradition to be used for stamping a product with the date, sometimes also the maker. In your case, I am not suggesting it is just randomly created Seal Script characters, I am suggesting I may have a couple of characters incorrectly translated which massively alters the resulting translation of the completed seal.

    If indeed your teapot is an authentic Yixing teapot, it may date from around 1960's, and could still be quite valuable.
    I saw a similar teapot design sell for over US$2500
    I will try find a link to it...

    I can tell it's upside down.

    When rotated, the top image will be the character:
    [IMG]= = also, too

    As for the rest, I can only partially see them, you need to take another photo with the light at an angle to create areas of highlights and lowlights(shadows) to emphasis the embossed stamp details.

    I think it's quite a neat looking mushroom teapot. There are a wide array of fancy styles of Yixing teapots.
