    PIC 5.jpg pic7.jpg pic 1.jpg pic 2.jpg pic 3.jpg pic 4.jpg 2017-03-22 12.02.37.jpg HI THERE,
I was wondering if anyone could help me please identifying this object. It's made of iron or rather heavier metal. It's definitely not brass hence not trench art.
Any guesses or any help at all would be highly appreciated.
It was bought in a second hand shop.

    Hi, magdaski, and welcome!

How big is this item? It almost looks like a planter pot for the patio, but I'm probably way off base.

    Welcome! :)
Please take a full photo, add measurements or at least something with it to show scale, then go back to EDIT and use the full image button for all your photos always. :)

Being in US I have no idea how big your coins are.
    Measurements are much more help.

That being said. If it is about 5" hi & 3" across. Dice Cup would be my answer.

I think it could be an 18th C. Measuring cup, or one made more recently in an unindustrialized country. The disc and fractional disc are what says "measure" to me. Those discs are probably symbols for numbers and fractions, and look like the pictorial equivalent of "1 2/3 cups" or something similar. Don't clean it! The patina is wonderful. The cup or bucket looks like it was in daily use, handled many times a day, for at least 100 years. The V&A museum in London has a large metalwares collection and may be able to help ID it.

Looks like sheet iron to me, maybe owner will tell us whether a magnet attracts it or not.
