    Bought at a swap meet.
Someone has grind/scratched the makers marks off?

They are both about 1.4m high and very heavy. IMG_0194.JPG IMG_0198.JPG

Hi, Roxy, glad it finally worked! And again, welcome.

Just a little help with the pictures, they are thumbnails right now, many people won't bother to look. Could you go back to your post, click the 'edit' button, then click on the 'full image' option of the photographs. That way they will be shown full size. Good luck!

Both appear to be legitimately late 19th century Victorian. Not sure what else you might want to know.

    Hi thanks for your message
I would like to know who mad them ana a rough value on them.
And why on earth someone would cover up the makers mark?

Need to show where you think maker's marks have been obliterated. Chances are, these never had any maker's marks.

Value is dependent on a lot of variables. Condition, selling venue, and location are chief among them. Could see these going for $50.00 each at a rural US auction or sell for $1K or more in working condition fitted with appropriate shades in a tony shop in NYC, London, or Paris. A realistic selling value probably falls somewhere between, assuming you can find a buyer.

Far out,I think I could get more than that at the local scrap yard:woot:

I wanted to put better photos up,but just started with that.
I will try to put more up tomorrow. Thanks for your interest. Roxy

Didn't want to imply that I thought they were worthless but selling venue and location are everything. The farmers at my local auction house would not know what to do with these and they would sell for very little. Here are recent completed sales for antique gas chandeliers on ebay for comparison.

As you can see, prices are all over the place with the top dollar results reserved for those in refurbished condition ready to hang. I do think yours quite nice and you could do well if willing to ship or can find an appropriate venue more local. I look forward to more pictures.
