    IMG_3011.jpg IMG_2639.jpg Hi all,

Recent received an Otto Von Thoren pastoral painting. I like it but will likely end up selling it. I have looked at the price of some of his pieces but most of them lack the detail/skill of my piece - IMO. Any thoughts on value? I've not measured it but I think it's something like 12x16 inches (without the frame). The attached note is attached to the back. Someone translated it to me from the Germany... it seems to mostly just list von thoren's works and awards.

For those who can't read German:

'Otto von Thoren, painter born 1828 in Vienna, died 15 july 1889 in Paris, studied in Vienna and in Paris (1857), after he had participated as an officer in the Hungarian campaign (1848-49) etc. In 1865 he settled in Vienna and later in Paris.'
This is followed by a list of his paintings and the galleries they can be found in, the most important being an equestrian portrait of the Austrian emperor. The others are mostly animal paintings.

Hi and WELCOME, jtiis,.....just some help for your images.....when loading your images, the very top one kind of asks "post ALL IMAGES FULL SIZE"......click THAT one once they're loaded small, and then they will all appear LARGE!!! Thanks!!! MUCH EASIER on older eyes!!! Images should be NO LARGER than 1 MB.....480 x 640 is a good general size.

I sold a damaged watercolor thru Skinner. Original estimate was 1500-2000. It sold for over $4000.
