I put just about everything except for my good crystal and china through the dishwasher. Always have.
Unless you are using the anodized aluminum, I can see not putting that through. Not sure why you wouldn't put stainless steel through.

    Hi,
I washed a lot of stuff in the dishwasher. I learned to use CHEAP dollar store soap making sure it did not have lemon scent or juice in it. I also empty it BEFORE the heat turns on. My everyday Fiesta the 1930s'40s stuff comes out shiny and clean but the new stuff post 1986 is slowly losing it's shine and is looking old. I wash all my Wedgwood jasperware once or twice a year. It looks marvelous. My everyday glassware started looking cloudy that is why I turned the heat off.

Oh, I didn't realize it was the HEAT that does that! I thought it must be magnesium or other substance in the water!
