information on leather reins

    These leather reins are at least 50 yr. old. How would they have been used? What type animal? Is there any reason to think that they are older/or have any value? Any ideas welcome. TIA

    Is it missing some parts, maybe? Like the harness attachment to the sleigh or whatever? This looks like part of the bridle/rein attachment, right?
    At the very least, I think it would be charming as a holiday decoration in a rustic décor...

    The entire leather piece is about 72", so 36 inches from head gear to end of the reins. Maybe a goat. I'll try googling to see,and let you know whether I come up with anything.
