  1. Hi Everyone
It's been a while since posting, life gets in the way. Again, thank you for this forum, I have finally gotten to a place where I can again go hunting and have found some things that caught my eye, but I have no idea on them. This is a vase I found, 8.5 inches tall base is 3.5" and top opening is 2". The bottom has numbers 1006/20 which I took as 20th of 1006 made. The glazes are beautiful with a silver color overlay but it was those red specks that caught my eye. Any help is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! vaseno02.JPG vaseno05.JPG

Your idea on the numbering is off base

It is a mold number, maker number, catalog number, or some such

  4. Thank you--That's why I come here! I thought that in the beginning, but I have never come across something with a / in the number, that is why I went the way I did. Thank you for bringing me back!

I think it is the 20cm version of style number 1006

Probably German. Some people more in the know here may pin it down further.

Maybe Ilkra Edel Keramik. The glaze certainly looks 60s 70s Germany.

I agree with Terry, a molded in number with a "/" in it often indicates a "style/size" configuration. Often found in German ceramic items.

Just now I did a search on the name and I find one similar on pintrest it was also mentioned clemens & Huhn and Eclectruvist (whatever that means) but at least it is things I can research...I would have NEVER seen this otherwise...Thank you so very much!

If you find stuff like this it's always worth doing a google on "West German" and the number. That usually pulls it up.

    It's Marzi and Remi, anyhow.

  12. I have no experience with German pottery, I usually find USA, so THANK YOU for the schooling on this. Now I know if it has a / in the number to research West German pottery. I learn so much here--Again, thank you for all your expertise.

Some numbers have dashes in, so they're also worth researching as possibly West German. Have a look through the images on the fatlava website. It will give you an idea of a typical look.
