Help identifyiing this container jug thing

    This has been in the house I lived from I was young in the 1990's

    I took it with me when I left the house I had been living in. I don't know what I should do with it.

    It's a container made from wood) possibly oak) and seems sort of old. It's in the style of a barrel and the inside is like a white sort of ceramic.
    The engraving on the shield on the front is a letter A in old style.

    Interesting because there was a glass decanter beside it. I think your right, I just Googled wooden ice bucket and a lot of stuff like it came up thanks.
