Dear all, I hope you are in good health!

I bought these two paintings in a thrift shop. I found them kind of mesmerizing; especially the second one. In first instance I thought they were by the same painter, but they are by two different painters. (see signature) I would think that they're 'African'. Is there someone who can give me some info? (For instance, from which country they originate? Our even someone recognizes the painters?) IMG_1122.jpg IMG_1125.jpg IMG_1123.jpg IMG_1127.jpg IMG_1124.jpg

    All the best,

    Take care,

    Robert.

Rodanthe was founded in 1985 as a gift shop so likely to be decorative.

Yes, looks like the same one from the sticker on the back. Both in the town of Lisse.

These are believed to be from the Belgian Congo, Leopoldville, now known as Kinshasa

Thank you all for your help. I assumed that the paintings were only framed in 'Lisse'. Also -I live in NL- and know Lisse... I would have thought the people around there are not the 'target' market for 'foreign' paintings. (But, then again, I did think someone from around there had them framed, which show's how easily one can be prejudice...)

    All the best,

    Robert
