Giovanni Gallo oil painting.

Found this at Goodwill. It looks like the real deal, oil on canvas board. It's signed Giovanni Gallo. I forgot what the title of this painting is but I have seen where he painted lots of these.

Was that $40? The starting was at $100. Those were watercolors on that link but the one I have is oil.

 

The start was $100, but often, when no bids at the opening, they will lower it.

 

That's cool. I know oil paintings usually go for more but I don't plan on selling mine anytime soon. Something to pass down in the family. It's hard to be a collector and a seller, at least for me it's that way.

 

Some sites are mentioning an artist named Giovanni Gallo Maresca, a professor born in 1919. I'm not sure if this is the same person. Here are a few links I found that haven't been posted here yet, but some may have come up in the Google search link that Shiloh posted.
