Another signature request

It says the file is too large, and I can’t be arsed to tool around with resizing on a new phone I can barely use yet. People can just click the link. At best, you’ll see photos of art, at worst you’re about to watch a video of Rick Astley. Just remember your social distancing guidelines and you’ll be fine.

Anyway, the stuff about students copying from a master was told to me by my mother who vaguely remembers it from another relative who took these painting to be looked at and appraised by an “expert.” But who really knows anything. It could all just be fake news.

All I know is that I love them and would easily pay upwards of $300 for them depending on the time of year and my bank account.

Suder's Art Store is in Cincinnati, and still exists. According to their website they moved to 1309 Vine St. in 1931. https://sudersartstore.com/art-supplies/about-us

Of course, this means they have been at the same address for almost 90 years. They may not have been the original framers. They could have reframed it. I did a quick search for Gennaro Rossi in both Chicago and Napoli (Naples, Italy) and didn't come up with anything. A deeper search may turn up some results.

Thank you! Yes, the only Gennaro I can find appears to be a modern day musician. I see a lot of very similar paintings selling for $100 or less, usually attributed to Giuseppe, Luigi, so I’m thinking that whoever this artist is, none of us have struck it rich.
