small brass step

    I have found a small brass step marked adams&westlake co.Chicago, but I cannot learn wha[​IMG] t it is

    well maybe I will get better the info was publicly available , Will try to do better, Just wish Someone could help identify the piece it was found in a scrap pile along with T model parts /carburetor , buggy parts horse drawn equipment parts, Old hand valve grinder

    but it is so small , I have 2 buggy steps they r much larger ,And would it likely be brass ? I was thinking several possibilities step to a rumble seat some were similar or a door or latch part that would enable you to use your foot to push something down ?

    just wondering maybe...... has to be to put your foot on I think by the way the surface is checkered to prevent slipping.... the co has responded but had no records on things made before 1927 and said it was nothing they had made since then

    I have another thing I would like to show to learn about its an old gun found in my grandmothers attic yrs ago she nor anyone else knows anything about its origin and the only markings on it are on a washer type thing that is the adjuster wheel for a coal oil lamp dated dec,10 1867 not original to the gun for sure according to NRA . Will include pic soon
