If it was rolled up still damp that could be mold.

It's really hard to say from this one picture. Did you not notice it when you saw it before the purchase?

I took the liberty of lightening your image overall (hope you don't mind!) just so we can see it better.....not sure it tells us anything more though.....it is still showing the dark areas.....

    Hi,
I hate to say this but it looked like my Oriental cleaned after the house fire. The lighter areas stayed light since things were placed there, the darken areas were open to the smoke. The cleaning lightened it slightly but it was never the same.

Well, if it won't clean and you've given up on it you might want to try "Oxi Clean Laundry Stain Remover" or send it to a professional cleaner. The Oxi Clean really does work great on stains. Just spray it on till it soaks the item, then let it sit for 10 minutes or so, then wash it with the regular detergent and the stain might go away. Don't know if it's recommended on carpet stains though, I never tried it on a carpet.

The Oxi Clean really does work though. I was skeptical at first. I had an incident where I washed a new white shirt the night before a wedding to get it to shrink a bit and fit better. When I took it out of the washing machine I totally freaked out, there were dark brown stains all over the shirt! I was confused about where the brown stains came from until I found some rust under the washing machine lid rim and inside towards the top upper back of the washing machine rim so when the water mixed with the rust it dripped brown rusty water drops onto the shirt.

After removing the rust in the washing machine I tried to bleach the shirt afterwards and added detergent too but the brown stains would not come out. Luckily I remembered I had bought some Oxi Clean awhile back and never tried it and had it on the shelf so I spray it on the shirt soaking the rust stain areas and let it set for about 10 minutes then washed the shirt again and it came out *Bright White* as good as new, I was amazed and very happy! So there you have it, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Kevin

    Hi,
I do not think Oxi Clean can be used on wool. That is what was told to me when I took a rug to the Oriental rug experts. They tried several things but the insurance finally said it was ruined and they paid up. However they let me keep the rug, I had it in the spare bedroom the bed hid most of the stain.
