PS, the photo is not of the carver Evans Apataki, but Chuck Frey, the dealer/owner of "Bering Sea Treasures"
and I note that other websites spell the name as Evans Apatiki.

All-Fakes.......I can't thank you enough for this information. I have printed the article so I won't forget the details. The signature surely looks the same as the one I have. I have held a fascination with the culture since I was just a little girl.......and I finally made it to AK last year. Not quite the way I wanted to......but the only way I was ever going to get there.....Norwegian Cruise. What I have always wanted to do is see AK by car....main streets and back roads.....meet the people and converse with them. I got the tourist trade edition, but I loved it nonetheless.

As a side note, I found James Michener's book on Alaska at the SAL, and have just started the journey. Being such a large book, it'll take me quite a while to read it, as I always seem to have trouble keeping my eyes open after reading just a FEW words.......
