Hi I have bought a house built in 1903 and I have just changed my original front door and windows. They are stained glass with very unusual patterns. I would like some advice on what to do with them. I have looked at ebay but don't know where to start with pricing etc. Can someone please give me some pointers. many thanks

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Welcome to Antiquers, wrbnsn --

If you can take some photos, upload them to one of the forums farther down the page (probably just the one that says Antique Discussion), more people will see them and will be able to comment. The photos might have to be resized depending on how you take them, or you might not be able to upload them.

I see you are posting from the UK.
You need an architectural salvage dealer.
Google architectural salvage Yorkshire and you may find one near to Sheffield where you live.

Sidebar.....Davey if you could get Peter to make Country of origin compulsory for all members.....it sure would save a lot of guessing and questions.....

Removing distinctive period features can seriously devalue a house.

    Hi,
I almost had a stroke when I read this piece. When I was working in Paterson, I saw so many beautiful things tossed into the trash truck.

I don`t think that is an option with the set up he has, its the same on CoinTalk and there`s 41,000 over there.

What we think can be info you haven't thought of.
    That then becomes advice.

Wrbnsn, I would look into Davey's recommendation:

You need an architectural salvage dealer.

While some may feel outrage at the fact that you've removed these items from your house, others out there who are looking for similar things will be thrilled to find them available. Your home is indeed your castle, and you are free to change it to suit your own taste.

There ARE places that specialize in selling such "architectural adornments" and you'd do best to find one near you.

    Best of luck to you!
