I love to cook and am 5-10, 225# to show for it!! so I sure as hell ain't using them for what they are made for - back into one of my cabinets they go!!

 

These g;ass cups were used under light and heavy pieces of furniture. My mother used them under a piano. If you do not drop the item on the cup they do not break. Very common 60+ years ago. At that time plastic was to fragile for use as a furnitue cup, espedially if the metal caster(wheels) were being used.

 

You also have to remember that weight is distributed to all four corners(legs), therefore there shouldn't be a lot of weight on any one coaster.
