    Hey everybody!

Last night I picked up this bouillotte lamp somewhere.
Now I spend the whole night googling and I found 2 of the same lamps.
This morning I found another one.

    The problem is:
1 website says it's bronze, and the other 'assumes' it is brass.
And I don't have a clue really. It's also possible that only the base is bronze.

I really hope somebody could tell me, or at least what they expect it to be.
    It should be ca. 1920.

Don't know if the shade's original either.

    Total height: 51 cm.

    Height shade: 14 cm.
    Diameter shade: 35,5 cm.
(Excuses me for the bad quality pictures, best I could do!)

    Thank you very much!

Generally brass. Most parts solid but that base may be plated iron or pot metal.

Looks more like 50s to me with those plastic faux candles and other details seen. That shade could be original.

I agree with Brad, a brass plated cast iron.

Huh, I thougt I already responded to this topic.
    Must have done something wrong.

Too bad it isn't bronze. Yet on a catawiki auction I saw this
exact same lamp sold as brass (Dutch: Messing), with a different shade.

Quite a good price btw. I bought mines for €10,00. :)

Do you think I should put another shade on it?
Or doesn't that affect the value very much?

    Thanks again!

I did too, and I just broke it :vomit:.

The 4 metal parts came off the ring.
Tried to solder it, didn't work.

Maybe it should be welded, but I kind of messed up the ring.

By the way, the lamp on the catawiki-link isn't EXACTLY the same.
The spines under the candleholders are different, plus the "plateaus"
under the candleholders are shaped a little different.

    Still kind of the same.

An antiquair told me it was all brass, today.
Don't remember how, but the base would be cast brass,
and the "bars?" would be brass too, but produced in a different way.

    :)
