The only thing I know for sure is that it's well over 50 years old. Red/white enamel, pendant is nearly 2" across and the chain is like a heavy dog chain. I've always wondered where it originated.

I can't help with the crest.

However in the 1960s crest jewelry was popular for costume jewelry.

    Does this say Coro?

This sort of thing was marketed as jewellery for men in the later 60s. Some men even wore it.

Very likely, Coro made a lot of items like this.

It's very interesting and fun in a regal sort of way!
I have a similar one that is just as impressive.

Looks quite like a Polish eagle... with French fleur-de-lis above it...

I can't imagine anyone would wear this, but I've puzzled over it for many years so thank you all for the replies!

I just got out my magnifying glass, and it does indeed appear to say "Coro".

My Mom had a couple of similar 'shield' pieces when I was little, they were already old enough in the early '60s to be relegated to my 'dress-up' use - pretty sure they dated around the late '40s into the '50s...

Here's that mark, somewhat enlarged, but not a heck of a lot clearer.....I wouldn't guarantee it says "Coro" though......

If I were scheduled for my usual 8 hours shifts from 4:00pm-12:30am, then yes, I feel up to it. Unfortunately, I'm going back to the "emergency protocol" schedule of 12 hour night shifts, 7:00pm-7:30am. THAT, I'm not so sure I'm up for...
