I believe this is a copy of one of the very earliest printings of Twenty-Four Hours a Day. I have been unable to find the price of any that have sold, and have found only one for sale, at $3,800. It looks the same as mine:

If you were me, and just wanted to sell it quickly because you needed the money, what would you do?

    WOW!
Aren't there want ads for books?
I mean besides from dealers...if you can tell.
A dealer with a buyer for it will give more.

The site that is selling the copy I linked to buys books. That might be the quickest way.

Thanks Debora - that second link is where I realized I had an early one!

    Great score book:)
I remember years ago someone posted an early AA book on the PGB best finds thread, I seem to think it sold in the $2000 range. Since then I always look for them but have never found one.
What about a 'buy-it-now' on ebay? List it high with open to offers and see what happens.

Lots of cost in that no?

Just the FVF and the fee on shipping.

But at thousands that's a lot no?
Don't you pay if it doesn't sell for such listings?

You don't pay anything if it doesn't sell, as I recall.

    Don't you if it's a BIN?

Ebay has been offering 50 free listings every month for quite some time so it won't cost to list and you only pay if it sells. 10% of the sale price is the fee you have to pay.

I think that may have been true years ago, but now all non-store folks get 50 free auction OR fixed price (BIN) each month. Only the "advanced listing upgrades" will incur a fee - some of which will vary with the higher starting prices ($150, I think). Here's the link to eBay listing fees.

Ha ha - I see cxgirl beat me to this! :)

Well what I don't know is if the asking price on that site is way out of line. I guess I could go see if they have a sold page.

Yes, maybe not the best example but I was trying to show that some of AA books are worth money so maybe the price on that listing isn't out of line.

Valid point but there were only -- according to a quick internet search -- 4,650 copies printed of the 1939 AA book and 80,000 printed of the first edition of Twenty-Four Hours. Scarcity has to drive up the price of the former.
