Don't remember when or where I got this set, sure is a nice one though. The necklace won't lay straight enough to measure but I would guess about 21." The ears are 2 1/2" long. I have never counted how many prong set stones. Does it look familiar as to maker, age?

Very pretty set...can't help with manufacturer, but I think the name of the stones is aurora borealis.

Aurora Borealis is a finish applied to glass or crystal beads, gives kind of a rainbow effect. Frequently seen on vintage jewelry, you often see it abbreviated just: "AB".

Pretty demi set. Kind of hard to pin down a maker on something like this.

The finish was invented in 1954; the style on this looks more mid-60s. Beyond that it's anyone's guess. There were 20 factories in Rhode Island alone who could have made it. The Providence area was a hotbed of costume jewelry making for whatever reason. Fine jewelry too, but they're known for the costume. It doesn't look European.

The clips on the earrings look more modern than old.

There were also making things like this in the 80's plus or minus, but I don't think they were using AB coating so often in later pieces.

Just noticed something I hadn't before. Is the clasp a replacement? Maybe just a trick of the light. Top photo makes it look soldered on or something.

I'd have said 60s. I own earrings of Ma's with that clip style.

We didn't use AB nearly as much as you guys, so I suspect your side of the pond.

I thank you all for the help! It is a very nice well made set. I new it wasn't antique, I was thinking maybe 1960's.
