The back looks like it has been repaired with tape at some point. It has already lost any integrity it had. I would rip the center section off in a heartbeat to see what I had, were it mine.

Couldn't agree more. With Ladybranch's links, and potential value, you are going to want to see what the back shows. You can make a (careful!) clean cut where the repair was and peek in. If you don't see anything, cut more until you can see the entire back. I don't think you need to remove this from the frame, just open the back fabric.

Look CLOSELY for any kind of mark, however faint. If you don't see anything, look again, tilting it in good light. Sometimes it can look as if there is no mark, but actually there is!

Not an expert in these, but I would not be surprised if this turns out to be a very good piece. Just seems to have such quality to it.

Also, as a caution, be utterly careful with it when moving it, removing the back, etc. Easy to damage something like this and right now it looks like it is in great shape. Condition on the porcelain will impact value. Little fingers sticking out are easy to break, just go overboard with care when handling.

Bet I could beat you, Brad, in ripping off the back. Brad would do it in a heartbeat, I would do it in a "New York second!" ;)

I seem to remember seeing a similar item on Antiques Roadshow (US)....but of course don't remember much of what they said about it. Continental, I believe, and I think they liked it.

    Hi,
If it is a woman being pulled by lions it is Cybele. Goddess of Fertility and Nature.

Susan, thank you so much for your info. When I can, I'll take some more pics of the ladies.

I have another picture of the "lady" in the cart. I'm not really sure what's going on there. Haha. Thanks everyone for your info and suggestions. When I pick it up tomorrow, I think I will take the back off. Actually, what looks like tape in the pic is really more fabric.

This is being called Sevres. The link goes to Pinterest and I can't see it when I am sent there, so I copied this from google images. I cannot find any plaques attributed to Sevres, only this vase, so it may not be a correct attribution

Notice the hands and feet, faces, folds in the clothes, then compare to the OPs plague. Also they are both bisque. Fully raised from the background.
