    Hi there!
I recently purchased this antique gold filled pocket watch chain. I typically only purchase solid gold antique Victorian jewelry but I couldn’t help but buy this chain for its unique look. I’m completely uneducated when it comes to gold filled jewelry and don’t know much. There are no markings and I can’t figure out if the black areas are where the gold filled has rubbed off or not. Any advice or tips would be so appreciated! I’m not sure if I made a bad purchase or not at this point haha. 81A884B5-7776-46F2-80FA-E79A5C10C9B9.jpeg 823ECF47-0DE7-40AB-879C-A19E4D0DF683.jpeg

I'm seeing verdigris in the second photo which might suggest simply gold plated copper or brass. Others may have better ideas.:)

Thank you! I actually cleaned it pretty good and got all the black and green stuff off it and it looks totally different!
