Yes, Cheryl - thank you so much! You went way above and beyond. I get an idea stuck in my head (800 in an oval), and it somehow prevents from moving further towards a different direction at times. I was so fixated on the mark and not the piece itself. I love yours! Thank you, again.

 

707 your cigarette box is outstanding . A real eye catcher ! The workmanship....painstaking !
If German & Italian don't work....the Swiss also used the 800 purity mark & the design is as fine as you'd see engraved into a fine swiss shotgun.

 

Thank you! It is Italian, marked as such, I had forgotten. It's very well made and heavy. With that top lip, it makes it somewhat unusable except to look at. Another 1/3" or so wide, it would be great for driver's license and credit cards.
