I've been finding a few nice pieces - cut glass vase, I thought maybe Pairpoint from the butterfly but still working on it, Hudson's Bay Duffle coat, Gladding McBean wine bottles - thanks to Janet I know who made them, little cast iron heater light which will be used in the store display at Christmas, stoneware longhouse? and this nice cake stand with 4 plates which I'll start a thread about.

Thanks moon! No, it is modern, maybe a studio piece of pottery or stoneware but I think is supposed to be a Native longhouse. There is a light inside, no marks anywhere though.

All the finds are great! Love that Hudson's Bay coat! My finds are pidley, didley compared to all of you, but here goes anyway.
An old copper tray, pieces of an old chandelier. Last year I found a bunch of these chandelier prisms, and it took forever to get them clean, so I'm not looking forward to doing these, as they are even dirtier than my last ones, oh well, they do sell though. A German love pop out card, black glass buttons, shoe buckles, earrings, some old cast iron candle holder (or something, not really sure yet), and some other odds & ends, there's more, but no pics yet.

I have no idea if yours is also Dansk though . . .

Tyeldom, would it be possible that the "some old cast iron candle holder (or something, not really sure yet)" could be a Dansk candleholder from the mid-fifties into the sixties?

Messilane, I am so sorry. I honestly did not see your post up under the last set of photos. Had I seen it, trust me I wouldn't have commented and 'fessed up to having one in the mid-1960s.

Now I'm slinking off (as much "slinking" as can be done by someone who first-hand knew what it was and stillllllll has one).

Although also married in the 1960s, I didn't get classy stuff like this.
It was to close to the 1970s, and I got butt-ugly Harvest Gold stuff, and Avocado green stuff as well.

 

Wow lots of "grate" finds!! Skeez yes I too thought maybe Hadley, but not, it has a sig and mark I will post on pottery thread soon. You are right on the jug,majolica and English i think.
Greg don't pass up those ornaments! Lots of folks like the antique / vintage patina that shows their age as well as the pristine ones, win win situation! Even ones with pine sap spots, drips can sell. Just make sure to take good photos! Never call it damage .... !

 

tyeldom3 how do you clean the chandelier pieces? Looks like a heck of a job. Love the copper tray and the beautiful card!

 

I have been pondering that as well.

Can you just soak them in hot sudsy ammonia and let them air dry?

 

How about hanging them somewhere outside & spraying them down with something (my choice would be Greased Lightning) then rinse off with a gently spray of the hose. You could get the excess water off by blotting them with a towel but let the air do the rest.

 

Haha, funny, I just finished cleaning about half of them. I'm happy with how they turned out. Much shinier & pretty now.
I just line my kitchen sink with a towel on the bottom then warm water & Dawn dish soap soak for a few minutes. Then use a soft fingernail brush to scrub each one front & back. Air dry for a short time because of the metal connectors. Then hand dry each one with a wash cloth, (and wait for the threads of it get caught in the metal connectors to delay the process even more).
Then the next problem is all the loose or bent metal connectors that need to be fixed, straightened, tightened or reconnected.
No big deal though, I only paid $2 for all of them, so it's worth the labor.
