Glass Biscuit Jar - ID Help Please

    A new, old item I am asking for help with please. This has been sitting around for a bit and it is too pretty not to be enjoyed. Time to move it out to a new home. Very heavy and 'seems' like it should some type of elegant glass, but I should be skinner and that hasn't happened overnight.

    I have been leaning towards this being a biscuit jar, but I may be off.

    It measures 6 3/4'' tall by 8'' wide. Thank you for looking/helping.

    Looks like lead crystal, if so European not American. Probably more recent.

    I'm judging this on the clarity of the glass and the little bit of light refraction I see on the bottom.
