This card was designed and is signed by Gladys Peto, a designer famous in the 20s and 30s. The signature is for Lindsay and Gladys, so it is not just some random Gladys unless by amazing coincidence she was also married to a Lindsay. Not really my cup of tea as an object, I was wondering if anyone had any opinion as to whether it had any noticeable value? Not one of my best photos.
It's a nice deco image by a known designer, and signed by said designer - a presentation piece. I think some collector will want it. Probably not big bucks, but certainly salable/desirable.
I like it as it's truly a design of the period. I'd take the red bow off and frame it. But, I suppose that would be sacrilege to greeting card collectors...
Strangely, I don't imagine framing this. An unsigned copy could be framed, but if you frame this, how can you display the signature? It seems to me that what makes this an item more desirable than usual is the siggy - that personal connection to the artist.
It's just what I would do, Bob; I'm more interested in the art work than the signature, although I understand the signature might add to the value.
