are the long silver ones glass beads too ivy?

 

Yes they are, I can't remember what they came off now but they are Victorian.

The pearls were used a lot by the the Victorians and Edwardians, Some of them are quite delicate and will crumble so its amazing that they survive. The way to tell the really old ones is look at the shape, the old ones have a tiny little "tube" like bit at each end where they were broken off.

I still have more beads to photograph so I may put some of the more interesting ones on too.

 

I just remembered, They were a fringe on the (what was) Victorian table cloth in post 17.
The fringe went all around the edge....Such a pity it was past its best.
