    Hi,
Can you please give me any idea about this beautiful tray please? It's no mark at the back. At the front only written Vilma Fawcast if I am not reading wrong.
    Thank you x 95217029_684856525612846_5386406232095457280_n.jpg 95147021_2583045978586842_1730482502977454080_n.jpg 95329242_260010895049165_8243704135669514240_n.jpg 95272284_1651890624966315_7118984722063032320_n.jpg 95313277_2553527974962125_5226219207678492672_n.jpg 95439100_613751356016553_3531816251053572096_n.jpg

Big fad in the late 1800s - early 1900s for women to hand-paint china blanks. Value comes from quality of the painting - this is nicely done IMHO.

Fourthed.(LOL) She probably had some training and may have done this for pay. Ladies could earn money painting china at one point.

That name, Vilma, is a dead giveaway, imo :)

My Grandma Honey's were marked Lucille.

    Hi @Hulya Pedicini

Welcome to antiquers... It's a very sweet and pretty tray.

This was a very popular hobby in the 50s, and still continues.

We did an estate recently chock full of gorgeous hand painted eggs and mushrooms(?). All done in the last 25 years.

They are hard to date. Look for wear.

My S-I-L's mom used to do china painting. She painted nearly up until she passed 20 years ago or so. I have quite a bit that she did and it's lovely. I guess if you can date the blank you would at least know how old that part is.

I'm moving right now, and if I run into the one piece I have of Honey's, I'll post it :)
