    The Chinese characters are just the year and author name which are useless because if you look at with a loupe, you would see it is probably a print.

    Thanks for your reply. Can you read the artist name and the year? Does not look like a print to me but I'll double check.

    Author (from the seal): 陈洪绶 Chen Hongshou,---A famous Chinese artist during 1599~1652

    Date on painting: it only tells it is the 40th year of old Chinese 60-year cycle calendar. We all know 癸卯 is 1903, 1963, so going back to his life time is 1603 when he was 4 years old. (could he make it painting at that age)

    Characters in pen: Lotus flowers and ducks.

    It is obviously added by a kid of the previous owner.
