    The pandas are children.:)
These vases are often called 'fertility vases', but that could be just a trade name.

The mark is upside down. My neck....

Looks like a sloppily written Tongzhi (Qing/19th century) mark(to my eye), but I suspect the mark is apocryphal and the vase is 20th century. I am not an expert.

I think you're right. There is also a triangle hidden in the mark, an earlier mark?
I can't show the detail where it is now, my computer is being uncooperative.

Thanks, inh. Do you see the darker red triangle, in the character top right? There seems to be something inside it too. Can't tell if it is over or under the 'Tongzhi' mark.

I at least see the triangle, hard to tell if there's anything in it. Looks like a stamped mark of some sort.

There's a bowl on gotheborg which has a triangular number mark which he says points to Macau or Hong Kong 1960s or later. Also marked Tongzhi, but differently.

I agree with the children/fertility vase suggestion - this immediately reminded me of a wedding gift I received long ago, a silk embroidered framed piece with lots and lots of children everywhere on it. A wedding blessing gift.

Give it a good wash to remove all that applied black muck, it will look a lot nicer.

Also used as a concept on Star Tek: Discovery. Fascinating little beasts.
