    Hi folks,
I've got old beds in relic condition, and some chairs, too. One appears to be an old rope bed. Any Ideas about them? Thanks! Rope Bed.jpg other bed.jpg Baby Bed.jpg chairs.jpg

Little inverted bell rope bed from about 1850 to 1880 give or take a few years !! Can usually buy them in the $100. to $150. range
Federal style four poster is the oldest and would be 1830 or before !! In excellent condition can bring several hundred dollars to the right buyer !!
Victorian Revival spindle bed, around 1900 or after and maybe $100. in todays market !!
Hard to tell much about the chairs with this pic but look to be turn of the century !! Bad thing is single chairs just do not sell well !! $10. to $15. each

Just curious but the spindle bed looks to be 2 foot boards rather than a head board and foot board !! Is the head board missing ?? It would have been taller that what is shown !! Maybe this was a set of twin beds ??

I can't help you on dating these beds, but wanted to say I'm I like the posts on these. Believe the posts on the 1st bed would be called turned with tulip finials. The top rail on the foot board is sometimes called a banket rail. Here's a similar one. They are giving it a wideeee time frame of the whole 19th century. Do wait for more knowledgeable furniture folks to chime in with dating Info.

The 2nd bed has what some call pencil posts. Not sure what the finials on these post are called. The head board might?? be called a Nantucket headboard???

Retail in CA I have gotten $30 for caned chairs in good tight condition.
Like the two on the ends.
Less for the less detailed chair

Does it look to anyone else like the caning on the second chair from the right is the "press in" stuff?

Would be helpful to see the underside of all chairs !! Would not make much difference in value either way !! Maybe another $5. or so !! It difficult to find someone who wants just one chair of a kind !!

All three beads are 19th century with the rope bed being early part. The other two are more like 1870 give or take. The rope bed has been modified to take standard rails. The second one looks like it could be missing spindles. Chairs are all late 19th century. Not a lot of value to any of these but not junk.
