    Random pic I found online.
But it's very similar, if not the same as this set .

They could be MARX but are probably Lionels similar to or just like mine from a bit later time frame.
I happen to have two Lionel books right next to me that I recently snagged at the thrift. :)

Those look like they may be MARX.

I think those would look better than later Lionels.

Not Lionel by any stretch. Marx is a much better bet. I grew up in a house full of toy trains and I can smell Lionel. American Flyer too.

My father says the locomotive needs a screw. Or it's missing one.
And I don't think they have the track for it.. :(

Hopefully get the train set here tomorrow to check it out

I'll post up a pic, you guys seem to know stuff about old train sets!

    I'm just learning

    He
Got ahold of the train set!
It's a Marx model of some sort.

Also got my hands on a railroad trinket box of sorts.
I'm guessing It's from the 70's, but I honestly have no clue.
But I like it. Deffinently going to be a permanent fixture at n the shelf as well as the train set.
And here are a few pics!

You'll find all the track you need online and probably the screw in a small hardware store and stores like Lowe's that had those little drawers of odd things.
    Can't wait to see! :)

It's a neat old train, I remember playing with it a lot when I was about 6 years old at my grampies.
Im hopeing the tracks and stuff will turn up one day. Should be at my parents somewhere.
