Featured Jewelry?? What Are They?

These are about 2" long, the leather covered box about 4"
They almost look like a safety pin. How old are they and how were they worn? The box has a little knob at the end you pull on to open it.

My curiosity is getting the best of me. How were they used for lingerie?

& your box is long high and thin with a flap that was abused....by something thrust in and out.....oh...maybe a cigar holder ??

 

They came in sets of 1, 2, 3, and 4.

 

The ones that went on your undies generally didn't have prongs. Prongs snag on things. The OPs are big for lingerie pins; the ones I've had are half that size.

 

Then what could they be for if not Lingerie. I really have no idea?

 

Maybe for a scarf? Possibly even a dress?

 

I sell a lot of vintage jewelry and I Love big, bold pieces. I am always amazed when buyers pick the small, delicate pieces. Some people just like small, non showey pins
