P1010001.JPG P1010008.JPG Other pickers said it was for smoothing sheets but looking for similar ones, I have found none, they all where longer and straighter with a handle on top. It measures 15" long by 4-1/2" wide.

    Hi,
Reminds me now that winter is coming. I need one of those long Scandinavian boards for smoothing feather beds. I have a really thick swan and goose down feather bed from Denmark. There are no channels just a big bag of feathers. It is just like having a swan sit on you to keep you nested and warm.

I should explain, it is NOT a comforter or a quilt. It is a large bag of down and feathers. It is 6 ft square I bought it on a trip to Danmark 30 yrs ago. It is like magic since it squashes down to fit in a standard size pillow case but then pops up to be 11" thick. Growing up in Western Pa with no central heat we slept on a feather bed on top of the mattress and covered with one. I am glad it happened then when I was young and did not have to get up in the middle of the night to pee. Of course the ones I grew up with were chicken and duck feathers and heavier. This one is so light and fluffy.

In my experience the bit that sits on you is usually quite wet, and you need to have been lying legless for quite a while before they waddle up and squat.

    Hi Af,
I thought a swan would sound better than a nasty old chicken. Okay I will make it an owl.

    In your experience?

There's GOTTA be a story THERE somewhere.
