It's Barefoot Mountain Pottery and Mimi Catworks.

I'll have to see if I can find any info about them.

A quick search didn't turn up much.

There’s an Etsy seller who might be connected. She is in Gatlinburg, TN. While most of her listings are for fabric items, she has some ceramic jewelry items that she claims to have fired “back in the 90s when I used to sell at art shows all over the South.”

My guess is that there is a connection of some sort, so it might be worth an email. Here’s her Etsy page:

Thanks. Indeed, no info online. There is also a facebook page of Barefoot Montains and Mimi Catworks so I hope to get a reply from there.

I find your post quite offensive since I took time out from my day to send you additional pictures of the pottery I made and sold for 25 years under the registered name of Barefoot Mountain Pottery back when you sent me a picture of my little Winterwood cat pitcher. You say I "claim" to have made my pottery and there is "connection of some sort" to my present website? You are very rude to question my veracity simply because my present website shows fabric scarves. I have sewn since I was 11.You think a seamstress can't also be a potter? Well guess what? I am also an innovative house builder, a fine gardener, a successful CFA Abyssinian cat breeder, and a spouse abuse counselor. Perhaps as you approach the ripe old age of 67, as I have, you will be able to look back on your life and be able to see a few creative accomplishments of your own rather than disparaging those of others.

Mimi, are you speaking to me? I was just trying to help the board member who owned the pitcher and asked about it.

Not knowing anything at all about your work, I pointed out some sites I came across that seemed to apply to his query. That's it. I never disparaged you in any way.

I also am NOT the person who sent you a photo & to whom you apparently responded. You certainly have no reason to be upset with me.

Your post is right by your name. I am responding to your post. You disparaged me when you said I "claimed" to make my jewelry. That is rude.

@Mimi Cat - Don't take any offense. This thread was started almost exactly 1 year ago, January 28, 2016.

SBSVC was helping kardinalisimo find info about the pottery mark and helped to find you. You were probably sending pictures and info to kardi, not SBSVC.

I missed this post first time around. I love the little cat pitcher you made!

Believe me, no one disparaged you. There's so much misinformation out in the wild web, most of us know enough not to believe anything until verified! Which was eventually done in this case.

We've known SBSVC for a long time and I'm certain there was no insult intended. You must realize that the internet is filled with people who claim to be and do everything. All it needed was for you to post here and introduce yourself and assure us that you are who we thought you might be. We are generally a very pleasant group.

Mimi Cat I know there are lots of forums where you have to tread lightly and watch your back. People coming to this forum I think are usually surprised at how kind and helpful people here can be.

There is lots of honestly but huge doses of good will and positive encouragement abound. I read that phrase as trying to convey lack of any in depth knowledge about you or any pots you could have made. I missed this post from a year ago too. It sounds like kard got in contact with you and I'm guessing that pot found a happy new home by now.

With all the cat lovers around here I'm sure there are many that admire it.

    Sorry for replying that late.
Mimi Cat, I was the one that contacted you, thanks to SBSVC suggestion. You can bet, she did not mean to disrespect you nor to be rude. The "claim" and " some sort of connection" parts were because of being uncertain if you were the one who did the wonderful pottery piece.
It's all love here and we hope you will enjoy being part of our community. If you still feel offended, accept our apologies.
