Featured The old family home

Just ran across this old house forum where my great grandparent's home in Seymour, IN is featured. It is an interesting example of Queen Anne architecture and much of the original detailing remains intact. If you like old houses, it is worth a look as there are quite a few pictures.

That is a really nice house. I can only imagine how beautiful it was in it's hayday.

 

Brad, that house is lovely. I'm sure you have very fond memories of visiting there.

I hope someone with lots of energy & vision buys/has bought it and gives it the attention it deserves.

Not to be dramatic but goodness, did someone think it would be a good idea to grace the facade with two plastic tubs?

 

It's a vacant, bank owned house, bluemoon.
Perhaps you can call the REALTOR and ask them to move the tubs out to the garage.

They sure don't make em like they used to...

 

That would be a $1.5 to $2 million dollar house around here in the right neighborhood. Even if it wasn't in the "right" neighborhood, it would still be over $500,000.

 

My apartment is very similar in the woodwork, not as ornate, however I do have an almost identical built-in china cabinet in my living room.
The tubs are trash receptacles, maybe it was trash day.
