Help with silhouette artist

I am pretty sure from Maryland got these from estate sale and put in different frames. Still have originals were just plain oval.

 

So was there any writing on the backs of the silhouettes, and what sizes might they be? Same artist signature...

 

Nothing on backs you can see the oval circle around the lady. They both have that.

 

Each character is 4½ inches tall

 

I remember hearing that silhouettes were popular during the Victorian era, though the man's clothing doesn't seem from that time.

 

Look 1930s. I don't think you'll ever be able to identify artist. This type of work was done locally.

Paper cutting was a big fad in the Georgian era, which is clearly not when these were done. I have the impression there was another vogue for them in the late 50s because I remember my mother volunteering to be one of the people who made them at a school fair. Agree with Debora that this couple looks more late 30s & the chances are very slim that the maker can be identified.

 

Yes, 1950s. I have a family member who has a set done for them by a local artist. Mom, Dad and two kids. It was popular in that colonial revival phase.
